The Friedrichsborn wind pump, along with its attendant’s cottage, stands at the northwestern end of the spa park. In fact, it is a technical facility for pumping brine to the graduation towers. It replaced the manual and animal-powered systems and is thus one of the few surviving relics of the former salt works. Other elements of the original design have been preserved in the spa park, including water features, statues, ponds, grottoes, and a small monopteros—a white round temple. It is located near the Effertz and Grillo monuments, as well as the Salt Office and the Boiling Inspector’s House.
