With its 333 steps, the Himmelstreppe on the Hennedamm is an architectural highlight that connects the Hennepark with the dam wall of the Hennesee. From its upper platform, a comprehensive view of Meschede and the surrounding lake landscape opens up. Particularly noteworthy is the staged lighting of the staircase in the evening hours, which creates an impressive visual experience. During the Advent season, the construction is also accentuated by an illuminated Christmas tree silhouette. There is a drinking fountain at the foot of the staircase. The Himmelstreppe can only be accessed on foot. It is integrated as a significant point in the HenneBoulevard, an approximately two-kilometre-long connecting path between Meschede's city center and the Hennesee. Along its course, this boulevard offers further themed stations and experiences that bring the natural and water landscape to life.
