The Sauerland trekking site is located in the heart of the Valmetal, a region framed by a characteristic mountain backdrop and an extensive network of hiking trails. Its direct connection to the Bestwig Panorama Trail, a circular hiking trail that has been awarded quality trail status, opens up extensive opportunities to explore the surrounding area. This trail reveals varied natural areas, sweeping panoramas and leads to historic villages as well as North Rhine-Westphalia's only natural waterfall, the Plästerlegge. The infrastructure of the trekking site includes a stable wooden platform with space for one or two tents, an ecological composting toilet and a robust wooden seating area. This concept enables overnight stays in harmony with nature, which promotes the experience of the starry sky and morning tranquillity.
