Family-friendly cycle tour from Sundern to Lake Sorpe

The cycle tour starts at the police parking lot. You can park in the rear area without restrictions. You leave the parking lot towards the pedestrian zone, cross the bridge to the left and turn right directly behind it into the "Rentnerweg" along the "Röhr". This path will now take you to Stemel and "Gut Selmke". Watch out! You have to turn left briefly up the hill and then immediately right again, otherwise you will end up at the sewage treatment plant. At "Gut Selmke", keep left, then left again at the fork and a steep climb takes you up to the dam of the Sorpe reservoir. A great view of the Sorpesee compensates for the effort. Now follow the path for 9 km to the boat landing stage in Amecke. Along the way, you will regularly have beautiful views of Lake Sorpe, you can visit the Kyrillwald forest or take a rest on one of the many benches in the dreamy bays and enjoy the tranquillity of nature.When you arrive at the landing stage in Amecke, turn right and cross the bridge between the forebay and Lake Sorpe. If you would also like to walk around the reservoir in Amecke (on foot only!), you can turn left at the end of the bridge and discover the 3.4 km long "Airlebnisweg" trail. There are also several places to stop for refreshments here. Otherwise, turn right after the bridge and follow the cycle path along the L687 to Langscheid. Here you can enjoy the beautifully designed Sorpe promenade and have a refreshing drink on one of the many terraces of the restaurants or enjoy the delicious regional cuisine. At the lake stage, cross the dam of the Sorpe reservoir and enjoy the view of the lake or the equalizing reservoir and power station on the left. The way back to Sundern is the same as the way there.
