The 'Plettenberg Up and Down' road bike tour presents itself as a challenging circuit through the Lenne valley and the surrounding valleys of the Lenne tributaries. This route is characterized by striking climbs and dynamic descents, which provide constantly changing riding moments. The starting point is in the Lenne valley near Plettenberg. From here, the route leads over challenging mountain ranges to Röhrenspring and Faulebutter before reaching the Lenne valley again after further climbs in Langenei. The elevation profile includes additional climbs to Apollmicke before a view of the Biggesee opens up and the ride passes Attendorn. After crossing a final hill, the original starting point in the Lennetal valley is reached again. Along the route, there are various opportunities for refreshments and a well-earned break.

Wearing a bicycle helmet should be a matter of course for all cyclists. Before setting off, check that your bike is in perfect condition. For demanding tours, we recommend packing plenty of drinks and snacks.

Safety guidelines

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
