The road bike tour in the Schmallenberger Sauerland presents itself as a multi-faceted circular route with various refreshment stops. It enables sporting activities in the midst of a charming natural backdrop.
The road bike tour in the Schmallenberg Sauerland starts in Hawerland, which presents itself with a wide, undulating topography. The route begins with a gentle descent through the Wenne valley to Frielinghausen. There, the route joins the SauerlandRadring, which leads along a former railroad line to Dorlar. This is followed by a profiled ascent that turns into a slightly undulating terrain and extends to Altenilpe. This section requires you to climb a significant amount of altitude. Afterwards, a brisk descent offers far-reaching views of Bad Fredeburg. A subsequent passage via Winkhausen offers a rest before a short, intense climb to Grafschaft, a well-known starting point for cycling events. From Grafschaft onwards, the route is less demanding, which is ideal for final regeneration.
