The road bike tour through the Eggegebirge and Paderborner Land first leads through the Fürstenberg Forest, passing Bad Wünnenberg, Büren and Borchen before reaching Lichtenau. The first section presents itself with a rather moderate elevation profile. As the route progresses, however, the ridge of the Eggegebirge reveals a series of more challenging climbs that enrich the cycling experience. There are also opportunities to stop for refreshments along the way.

Marsberg is conveniently located on the Kassel/Hagen railroad line. Trains run every hour on the hour in both directions.
