Road bike - Sorpesee Circuit - Sauerland Challenge REMBE-rad-net Pro Cycling™

The Sorpesee Circuit - REMBE-rad-net Pro Cycling™ Sauerland Challenge starts in Menden and first crosses the characteristic Sauerland landscape. The asphalted route, designed as a circular route, presents a harmonious sequence of moderate climbs and flat passages that allow for an effective roll-in. After Menden, the route continues via Hemer and Stephanopel, followed by rural paths to Ispei. From there, the tour leads through Garbeck and Langenholthausen to Bruchhausen. A serpentine route leads to Langscheid, where an impressive panoramic view of the Sorpesee opens up. The course offers a variety of relaxed sections along the lakeshore and more challenging passages that demand stamina and riding skills. From Langscheid, the route takes in the villages of Hachen and Hüsten. This repeatedly offers far-reaching views of the water and the surrounding forest landscapes. After the Sorpesee, the tour leads through Neheim and Wickede, along quiet country roads to Fröndenberg and back to Menden. The final section runs through the rural countryside and marks the return to the starting point in Menden. This circular tour is characterized by a balanced composition of sporting challenge and the scenic character of the Sauerland. It enables an intensive exploration of the local nature and the sporting demands of road cycling.

Wearing a bicycle helmet should be a matter of course for all cyclists. Before setting off, check that your bike is in perfect condition. For demanding tours, we recommend packing plenty of drinks and snacks.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
