The StoppOmat Rönkhausen offers an established opportunity for objective performance testing in road cycling. Interested parties can evaluate their individual condition via a fixed route that stretches from the lower reservoir of the Pumpspeicherwerk Rönkhausen to the upper reservoir. The system is based on recording a stamp card at the starting point and returning it at the finish, which ensures precise timekeeping. The recorded data is published to document the results achieved. This methodology enables continuous performance analysis over an extended period of time.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.

How to get there

From the B 236 in Rönkhausen, turn off at the traffic circle in the direction of the Pumpspeicherwerk. Through Rönkhausen and Glinge uphill to the lower basin of the Pumpspeicherwerk Rönkhausen. From Sundern via Endorf up the Röhrtal (K24). Through Brenschede and Faulebutter. Turn off at the junction towards Rönkhausen/Glinge and downhill to the lower reservoir to the start of the StoppOmat. From Eslohe via Nieder- and Obersalwey. Turn onto the K29 in the direction of Weuspert/Faulebutter. From Faulebutter continue as described above.
