Meschede, Eslohe, Schmallenberg, Lennestadt and Finnentrop are the main towns along the SauerlandRadring and the HenneseeSchleife. The configuration as a circular route allows flexible access to the route at each of the points mentioned as well as in numerous smaller villages. Evidence of the railroad's history can be seen along the route, including old signal systems, buffer stops and historic wagons. Steam locomotives also provide an insight into past eras of rail transport. The Kückelheim Fledermaustunnel is a striking element of this route for cyclists.
