The route first heads south through the districts of Opmünden, Elfsen and Beusingsen to Herringsen. The section of the route along the Haarstrang is a little strenuous. However, you will be rewarded time and again with fantastic views over the Soester Börde and its picturesque landscape. The route then continues via Neuengeseke and Enkesen im Klei to Lohne. Half of the route is done! The route in the north is rather leisurely. The first stop is Bettinghausen. There you can take a break at the Landgasthof Vogt (Thursday is a rest day). The tour then takes you via Ostinghausen - take a little time in the Woeste nature reserve, where you can observe special and rare animals with binoculars - Weslarn - a tour of the village is worthwhile here to get to know the most important sights of the town - and Heppen back to Bad Sassendorf. Have fun!
A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerland district, Märkischer district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the South Westphalia cycle network.
