The Great Möhnesee Tour reveals the characteristic landscape types of the region: extensive meadows, wide expanses of water and dense forests. At the center of this route is Lake Möhne, whose main basin with the Möhne tributary runs through the Möhne valley from east to west. The northern shore is characterized by a wide range of restaurants and a number of leisure facilities. The southern part of the lake, fed by the Heve, is partially protected and forms an important habitat and resting place for various species of waterfowl. Immediately to the south is the extensive Arnsberg Forest, which enriches the tour with its wooded sections and opens up further perspectives.
