Directions

The cycle tour starts at Menden railroad station.Cycle downstream along the "Untere Promenade" to "Märkische Straße". Here you turn left onto the cycle path and cycle past the VHS. At the end of the bridge, turn right after two bends and cycle under the "Westtangente". At the end of the underpass, turn right onto "Galbreite". After approx. 100 m, go straight ahead at the turning right of way into the street "Frielingsen", which leads into a footpath and cycle path and then takes you through a park area. At the end of the path, turn left over the Wannebach bridge and up the ramp to "Thüringenstraße", which you follow to the end. Then turn right into the street "Am Vollmersbusch".Follow the road into "Eichendorffstraße" and turn left at the end onto "Hermann-Löns-Straße". After approx. 150 m, turn right into "Heckenrosenweg", which you follow past the "Menden" town sign and continue straight on along "Im Hülschenbrauck". After around 1.5 km, cross the Abbabach stream and turn right into "Im Wichenbrauck". After approx. 300 m you will reach the L680 ("Bräukerweg"). Caution is advised here: Watch out for traffic and cross the country road straight ahead into the road "In den Kämpen", which is called "Am Abbabach" after around 300 m. At the campsite, turn right into "Koksbeyweg". (After a slight incline, the bench on the right-hand side of the path offers a nice opportunity for a short break). At the end of the "Koksbeyweg", turn right into the "Scheda" road. After the bridge over the Abbabach stream, turn right onto the "Berglose" path, which you follow for just under 1 km. Before the sewage ponds, turn left onto "Wälkesbergweg". After around 2 km, follow the Wälkesbergweg to the left and continue until the "Halinger Dorfstraße" crosses the path. Turn right onto "Halinger Dorfstraße" and follow it for around 400 m to the corner of Provinzialstraße (B515). Here you need to be careful again: Cross the B515 at the traffic lights and ride straight ahead into the street "Osterfeld", which you now follow for 1.8 km to its end. There, turn left onto Heidestraße, which becomes "Abtissenkamp" after around 800 m. After crossing the Hönne, leave the Ruhr Valley cycle path and turn right onto the footpath and cycle path that takes you along the Hönne back to Menden. At the Menden-Bösperde railroad station, take a small detour around the staircase and then continue parallel to the tracks. Behind the tennis courts, the path leads around the KME heating plant on the right. After you have passed the underpass of "Märkische Straße", loop around to the right onto the bridge. Behind the VHS, turn right into the "Untere Promenade", which takes you along the Hönne back to the starting point of the tour, Menden railroad station.
