The Hellwegbörde presents itself as a regional circular route for cycle tours with an important breeding area for farmland birds, including the rare Montagu's harrier. The diverse vegetation in the Schledden valleys and quarries also supports a rich insect fauna. Refreshment stops are available along the route.

Directions
You can start the circular cycle route through the Hellwegbörde at the "Mythos Stein" park, an old limestone quarry, south of Geseke. It leads along the Westerschledde and the Ehringerfeld forest to the Haarstrang near Oestereiden. At Westereiden, it crosses the Pöppelschetal valley in two places before descending along the Erwitter quarries back down into the Unterbörde. Here, the route passes the Muckenbruch nature reserve. In Geseke, the trail leads back to the starting point.
