A rescue point system has been installed in the Hochsauerland district. Rescue points can be found on the information boards at junctions and on hiking signs.

Visit the observation tower on the Kahler Asten with its wonderful view.
Public transit
- People travel free of charge on buses and trains with the Schmallenberger Sauerland Card. Dogs are also free of charge, but can be refused by the driver (size etc.)
- Bicycle transportation costs between € 1.50 and € 3.00. E.g. 1.50 € Schmallenberg - Fredeburg or as a day ticket for the whole of Westphalia 3.00 €, there is also the possibility to purchase a day ticket for NRW, this costs 5.00 € per bike! Please note that an additional passenger ticket may be required.
