The cycle tour around Brilon leads through a landscape characterized by the characteristic limestone hilltops from which imposing rock formations rise up. The route opens up the Aatal valley with its historic mills and offers a variety of places to stop for refreshments. A particular highlight is the headwaters of the Alme, where over one hundred individual springs emerge from the limestone and feed the course of the river to the north. Those interested in culture and geology will find insights into the prehistoric geology of the region at the Iguanodon site in Nehden. A model of this prehistoric inhabitant is on display at Museum Haus Hövener.
