Tour descriptionStart at junction 16, near Touristik OlsbergCycle to the traffic circle and then cycle up the Rutsche road, then continue along the Triftweg to reach the cycle path to Elleringhausen. The federal gold village of Elleringhausen lies in the idyllic, narrow valley of the Gierskopp. It is the "village of bridges": 19 of them span the "Hausbach" stream. "Flower women" lovingly plant the many flower boxes along the fence along the stream. The numerous bridges in the half-timbered village lead to the so-called Solstätten, half-timbered houses from the 16th century. The Gierskoppbach has remained in its natural streambed to this day. In Elleringhausen you will find the small Kneipp herb garden in the Schogge, a herb paradise laid out on a slope. Enjoy a short break in the seating area before continuing up the village street. On the village meadow you have the opportunity to experience the Kneipp barefoot path. Simply walking barefoot is good for your feet and body. There is a playground and a covered picnic area at the Schützenhalle.Continue on to Bruchhausen - the Bruchhauser Steine, four mighty rock formations, are visible from afar. Once you arrive in the European Gold Village, discover the Gutscafé with the Sauerland flower garden by the moated castle. There is a public e-bike charging station in the center of the village. The sensory experience begins at a water wheel. Before taking a small path up to the Kneipp sensory garden, you can enjoy a Kneipp treatment at the foot of the water wheel. The cool water has an effect - even if it only washes around your feet up to your ankles. A barefoot path lined with different materials is designed to convey the experience of nature through touch. Discover the restorative and calming powers of living nature on bare feet. Shoes off, socks off and off you go.A little further up at the small herb garden, you can smell the abundance of nature. The various local herbs stimulate the sense of smell. The trail now leads along the marked cycle path into the rose village of Assinghausen. "One village - one big garden" is the motto here. In this federal gold village, the rose is a characteristic local feature. Assinghausen has been a recognized rose village since 2007. Four rose trails lead through the half-timbered village, presenting 200 varieties of roses in gardens and parks. The romantic garden at the old tithe storehouse in the center of the village not only offers space to linger, but also allowsthe whole variety of roses to shine. The small but beautiful monastery garden is located in the historic town center and has all kinds of local herbs. Just outside the village center is an old village fountain. It is fed by fresh water and invites you to take a Kneipp arm bath. Past the Küsterland, with the walk-in rose rosary, the treading pool is embedded in the middle of unspoiled nature. Treading water here is simply a pleasure. There is also an e-bike charging station here.Alternatively, you can cycle back to Olsberg from here on the Ruhr Valley cycle path, which is approx. 19 km in total. If you are looking for more of a challenge, continue along the Kneipp cycle path to Wiemeringhausen. The old half-timbered houses are picturesquely grouped around the village square with its 16th century church and granary. The Kurpark-Weg invites you to take a short walk. It is best to park your bike opposite the church. The Kurpark-Weg begins next to the church along the young Ruhr. The well-surfaced, barrier-free path meanders through an old stock of trees. You can look forward to a wide range of Kneipp activities for young and old: treading water, exercise trail, children's playground and a covered picnic area.Refreshed and relaxed, you cycle along a farm track to the historic half-timbered village of Brunskappel in the Negertal valley. The village center is a sight straight out of a fairy tale, with many half-timbered houses up to 400 years old and Wildenberg Castle, built in 1295. It's worth taking a break at the "Tretstelle der jungen Neger", where you can experience the benefits of treading water in the riverbed. Arm basins and watering cans are also available and complete the Kneipp water treatments. Make yourself comfortable on the large lawn with playground and enjoy your break with a wonderful view of the castle garden. There is an e-bike charging station at the village community center. The tour now leads down to Wulmeringhausen via the citizens' cycle path. The pretty Landes-Golddorf used to be a busy mining village and is still characterized by its mining history today. Old half-timbered houses give the village a typical Sauerland charm and there are still spoil heaps and mine mouths in the surrounding area. Discover the small but beautiful herb garden next to the church in Wulmeringhausen. In the midst of the fragrant herbal splendor, a bench invites you to marvel and enjoy. A second nature retreat is located in the middle of the village. Feel the cool water in the riverbed of the Neger.
