The regional cycle tour Meinerzhagen-Kierspe-Meinerzhagen opens up the southern Märkisches Sauerland. This route invites you to explore the diverse topography and characteristic towns and villages.
The regional cycle tour "Meinerzhagen-Kierspe-Meinerzhagen" starts in Meinerzhagen's Volkspark. The route first crosses urban sections, passing the historic Krim alley of houses including the Krugmann distillery, the Meinerzhagen outdoor pool and the striking Fischbauchbrücke bridge, before moving on to more scenic areas.
After the district of Hardenberg, which offers wide panoramic views, the route leads past the Landgasthof Eckern with its adjacent high-altitude airport and the forest sofas there. The ascent into the Ebbegebirge mountains takes you via the former Valbert railroad station. Above the Fürwigge dam, there is a far-reaching view of the Nordhelle; it is also possible to cycle around the dam.
The ride continues through the Jubachtal nature reserve, reaches the Volmetal valley and crosses the village of Sankel to Kierspe. After crossing Kierspe, the route leads back to Meinerzhagen. It passes Joest's farm store, a regional direct marketer, and the village of Hahnenbecke before reaching the starting point in Volkspark.
