The mill tour starts at the Kreishauspark in Brilon and initially runs through the historic town center of the old Hanseatic town. The route continues through the Hexenstein nature reserve, which presents itself as a natural backdrop. A striking point along the way is the Seeschultenmühle, which was once one of the five Aa mills in the Aa valley. The valley of the Aa, a river that rises in Altenbüren and eventually flows into the Möhne, offers an opportunity to take a break and contemplate the surrounding nature. The route continues through the characteristically undulating landscape of the Escherfeld. Passing the Feldberg, the tour reaches the Bachschwinden, a geological phenomenon of the Brilon plateau where surface water seeps into the calcareous subsoil. After passing the glider airfield, the most challenging ascent of the route follows. The tour then leads back to Brilon, where there is a comprehensive view of the town and its scenic surroundings. There are various places to stop for refreshments in Brilon after the tour.
