Racing bike - Great Sauerland Marathon

The Great Sauerland Marathon presents itself as a road bike tour whose design opens up the option of completing it in several daily stages. This allows for flexible route planning, which accommodates individual preferences in the daily schedule. The route allows an in-depth exploration of the diverse topographical and scenic features of the Sauerland. It leads through the calming agricultural areas near the Hennesee, crosses the Lenne valley and includes challenging climbs to prominent points such as the Rhein-Weser-Turm and the Kahler Asten. The route is also characterized by dynamic descents and the characteristic hilly landscapes of the Medebach Bay. Along the route, far-reaching views alternate with the presence of authentic villages. The tour passes prominent natural monuments such as the Bruchhauser Steine and Diemelsee as well as renowned winter sports centers such as Winterberg and Willingen. An extensive, gradually descending passage from Rimberg to Meschede completes the profile of this circular tour. Adequate refreshment stops are available along the route.
