The cycle tour begins in Schmallenberg on the SauerlandRadring, which is marked by the bat logo. The initial section has a moderate gradient towards Bad Fredeburg. The route then passes through villages such as Mailar, Dorlar, Bremke and Sallinghausen before reaching Eslohe. From there, the tour continues along a former railroad line and ends in the Kückelheimer Fledermaustunnel, a significant point on the route. The return route leads from Kückelheim through the Haverland back to the starting point in Schmallenberg. The asphalted paths run away from busy traffic routes and offer the opportunity to take in the varied landscape of the Sauerland. Along the route there are various viewpoints as well as cultural points of interest. One example is the LandDampLeute Museum in Eslohe, which is a machine museum with interactive exhibits.
