The tour starts in Kirchhundem, right next to the town hall. From there, a well-maintained cycle path runs along Flaper Straße through Flape to the outskirts of Emlinghausen. This is followed by an asphalted farm track up to the pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Kohlhagen. The sacred site, which is over five hundred years old, represents an important regional cultural asset. Nearby, the Landhotel Gut Ahe offers a well-established place to stop for refreshments in an inviting location. The rest of the route of this circular tour extends via Brachthausen, Wirme and Emlinghausen before returning to Kirchhundem on the familiar cycle path. The return route is characterized by a continuous, sloping profile.

Safety guidelines
A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerland district, Märkischer district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the South Westphalia cycle network.
Author Tip
The centuries-old Marian pilgrimage site with its late medieval miraculous image in Kohlhagen lies along the way and is well worth a visit.
Public transit
Via the Essen-Siegen regional line, destination station Lennestadt-Altenhundem, Lennestadt-Grevenbrück or Kirchhundem. Then continue by bus to Kirchhundem.

from the north and south via the A 45 and B55 (highway exit Olpe, B 55 direction Lennestadt),
from the west via the A 4/A 45 (highway exit Olpe, B 55 direction Lennestadt),
from the east via the A 44 / B 55 (highway exit Anröchte, B 55 direction Meschede).
