The cycle tour across the Brilon plateau starts in the historic center of the Hanseatic town of Brilon, characterized by the town hall and the market square surrounded by half-timbered buildings. This circular route opens up a diverse landscape to visitors, characterized by charming villages and striking geological formations. The route initially leads from the market square towards the city limits and runs through the Bürgerwald forest in Petersborn. The Hilbringsetal valley then opens up, followed by a passage to the Hiebammen Hütte. A near-natural loop leads through wooded areas to a quarry before the route turns towards the Aamühlen and the Aatal. After crossing the B480, the trail leads up to the Brilon plateau. Another section of this tour includes the village of Alme, known for the Alme springs, which are one of the most important sources of water in Germany. The route continues to Nehden, which is home to a remarkable dinosaur site, and through the district of Thülen. Before returning to the Brilon market square, there is a view of a prominent industrial company in the town. There are various places to stop for a break along the circular route.
