Welschen Ennest-Silberg-Kohlhagen

The regional cycle tour Welschen Ennest-Silberg-Kohlhagen starts at the train station in Welschen Ennest and first leads to Benolpe. The route along the Kuhlenbergweg follows the Silberbach river and touches the Breitenbruch nature reserve on the way to Varste. In Silberg, you have the opportunity to explore the Schrabben Hof cultural estate. The local history museum located there provides an insight into the history of the region. An existing restaurant serves as a refreshment stop. The tour continues via Brachthausen. From Wirme, you have the option of visiting the Kohlhagen pilgrimage church. This site is known for its historical significance and as a place of spiritual gathering. The route continues with another stop at the Gut Ahe country inn and farm café. The circular route leads from Wirme via Varste back to the familiar section of the route, which takes cyclists back to the starting point at Welschen Ennest railroad station.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerland district, Märkischer district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the South Westphalia cycle network.

The centuries-old Marian pilgrimage site with its late medieval miraculous image in Kohlhagen lies along the way and is well worth a visit.

Regional trains from Siegen and Hagen/Essen stop at Welschen Ennest every half hour.

Welschen Ennest can be reached from Kreuztal via the B517. The A4, B54 and L729 take you to Krombach on the B517.

There are plenty of parking spaces at the station.
